5.0 out of 5 stars a great bottle at a good price, May 19, 2008
I was a die-hard Nalgene bottle user. I owned at least a dozen of them, and never went anywhere without one. Until recently. With the questions regarding the safety of the plastic they were made from and with recent articles discussing issues with the buildup of germs that are recorded in many of these type of containers, I decided to make a switch. I love the fact that these are made of metal, especially since I have cracked more than one plastic bottle by dropping it or accidentally cooking it in the dishwasher. Even the Nalgene bottles do not handle the heat of the dishwashers well, and I have had them begin to get the little spiderweb cracks. Anyway, the metal bottle is tough, light-weight, and is easy to haul around. The 1 liter size, in my opinion, is best suited for either home/office use or serious backpacking applications. A liter of water can get heavy lugging it around all day. The .6 liter is perfect for people on the go that want to reduce their use of plastic... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great water bottle, May 13, 2007

The best container for liquid that I've used. While other no-leak containers always seem to leak, this one does not. I can throw it in my computer bag without a care.

However, since the container is made from aluminum, it transfers heat well. If you put cold water in it, you'll soon have room-temperature water.

4.0 out of 5 stars great on the inside, but maybe not on the outside, September 30, 2007

I love my blue 0.6L Sigg water bottle. It's a great size for carrying around everywhere, and the deep blue color is to die for. It's light. It doesn't retain taste and smells from last month's fruit punch (as my last Nalgene-style bottle did, despite repeated washings and bleachings!). I've done everything I can think of to test it for leakage or taste transference, and it has proven itself worthy of my $20 every time. My only worry is with the exterior finish, which is meant to be durable but perhaps isn't. One faceplant on the concrete and my Sigg has a nasty scuff right through the paint on the bottom edge. The product info says such scuffs, come by so easily, are likely to invite further damage to the surrounding paint. I'm not overly thrilled with that prediction. Quibble aside, it's a lovely bottle, the loop-top screw cap is very convenient for carrying, and I am confident that my borrowed textbooks are safe while it's bumping around in my backpack with them. I highly... Read more
